Unpublished manuscripts of historical books and plays written by Smith, a Minneapolis (Minn.) attorney, with some related correspondence. They include versions of "Walker-in-the-Pines," a biography of Henry H. Sibley; two scripts of plays about Sam Houston of Texas, entitled "The Eagle" and "The Raven," the latter written in collaboration with Houston's biographer, Marquis James; and stories of Joseph Rolette and Little Crow, Dakota leader in 1862.
